If you climb something, you move up or down it.
Example: They climbed the stairs to the top of the tower again and went out onto the roof.
If you climb into, out of, through something, etc., you move with difficulty, often using your hands and knees.
Example: The old man climbed into the back seat of her small car.
If prices, profits, temperatures, etc. climb or if a road, a path, or a piece of land climbs, it goes up.
Example: This year, gas prices have climbed steadily from a low of 75 cents to a peak of almost $1.30 in August.
A climb is an upwards movement, often a slow or difficult one.
Example: It isn't far, but it's a steep climb and they were sweating when they reach the top.
A climb down is a long slow downwards movement.
