When a person fixes something, they repair it.

Example: The mechanic fixes my car.

When a person fixes something to something else, they attach it or hold it in place.

Example: A piece of chewing gum will fix your note to the bulletin board.

When a person fixes something at a certain time, they make a rule or agreement that the time will not change.

Example: The Constitution fixes the date when Congress must meet.

If someone fixes an animal, they remove its reproductive organs, so that it can’t have babies.

Example: After you fix a male cat, it doesn't fight with other cats as much.

If a person fixes a game, contest, or election, somebody unfairly controls what will happen before it is over.

Example: Someone has fixed the game so that none can win.
