frame

The parts of a building that are strong and that hold the other parts up.

Example: Now that the frame is done, we can start on the walls.

The strong parts (bones) of a person's body.

Example: His starved flesh hung on his frame.

Something, often made of wood, around the outside of a picture.

Example: The painting was in a beautifully carved frame.

The outer part of a stamp's image, usually decorated.

A part of a strip of photographic film, the size of one image.

Example: A film projector shows many frames in a single second.
