If someone is sleepy, that person feels like they need to sleep; they are tired.

Example: My son woke me up at four in the morning, and I had to work until eight at night! Now I'm very sleepy.

If a place is sleepy, it is quiet; there is not a lot happening there.

Example: After I moved to the big city, I missed my sleepy hometown.
