Something is slow if it takes a long time to move. It is not fast.

Example: A snail is a very slow animal. It moves slowly.

If something is slow, it does not happen in a short time.

If someone is slow, it takes them a while to understand something.

If you slow someone or something, he, she, or it does not move as quickly as he, she, or it did before; you lower the speed of something.

If you slow, you do not progress as quickly as you did before.
